Atari have announced today that developer Killspace Entertainment are working on Yars’ Revenge, a remake of the 1981 Atari 2600 classic. This reboot will be hitting the PlayStation Network in early 2011 and will feature a heavy Japanese influence, something that was not there the first time around.
Yars’ Revenge promises massive aerial battles, multiple endings, and local 2-player co-op. The game will place players in the role of a nameless Yar who, after being brainwashed, is now out for revenge on all those responsible. A teaser trailer has been released below but it is just that – a teaser. Look for more details in the coming months but until then, enjoy the tease!
