GTA III PSN Gets Last Minute Delay Due to Audio Track Kerfuffle

Were you looking forward to playing one of the PS2’s best selling, most influential and controversial titles ever on your PS3? Well unless you have an old 60GB, we have some bad news for you – GTA III‘s PSN release has been delayed.

Rockstar’s smash hit title was due to hit the US PlayStation Store with today’s update, but an audio track issue has caused the game to miss its release date. Morgan Haro, PlayStation Community Manager, said on the PS Blog:

There were some last minute issues with getting clearance for a certain audio track in the game; but the teams at Rockstar are on it to review how to best get this title on PSN.

What the clearance issue is exactly is unknown, but it didn’t stop the developer releasing the game on mobiles, so it’s definitely rather odd. Sadly no time frame has been given as to when it’ll actually be released, but stick to PSLS to find out what’s happening.

GTA fans shouldn’t totally despair, however, as publisher Take Two has an earnings call later today that might just reveal GTA V’s release date.
