Destiny Beta Open to PlayStation Plus Asia, Limited to 5,000 Members

Here we go again! Just two weeks ago, the official PlayStation Europe blog posted that the upcoming Destiny beta will be available to all PlayStation Plus subscribers, which turned out to be not true. However, now, the PlayStation Asia blog has posted the exact same thing, but this has more details and looks to be legit.

The registration starts on July 7 and will last until the 13th, and will only be available for 5,000 PS+ members.

How to register for “Destiny Beta”?

Application Procedure:

    1. Visit the Destiny Beta registration page (to be opened from 7 July 2014 16:00 HK Time)

    2. Login with your SEN account and complete the application form

    3. 5,000 selected PS Plus members will receive an email with the Destiny Beta voucher code on 16th July

 Registration Period: 7th-13th July

Beta Starts: 18th July (00:00 HK Time)

Important to note that it is open only to Asian PS+ members, as the Terms & Conditions specifically state:

1. This exclusive Destiny Beta is only open to Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) members with a valid PlayStation®Plus subscription in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia or Taiwan during the beta registration period.

While there’s a possibility that this once again, an error on Sony’s part, the chances of that are looking slim. In short, it does look like Asian PS+ members won’t have to pre-order Destiny to try the beta out when it start on July 17. We’ve reached out to Activision as well to ask if this is something similar will take place for PS+ members outside Asia.

In related news, the Destiny beta is said to last for 10 days, with Activision, nor Bungie denying or confirming the report. Also, we’ve posted what appears to be the complete list of PvP modes in the sci-fi shooter yesterday.
