Following the Alpha Demo earlier this year, which saw more than 850,000 players, Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo will be releasing a second Nioh demo for PlayStation 4 next month.

Available to download and play from August 23 until September 6, the Nioh Beta Demo will let you play through some new stages, Koei Tecmo Europe Community Manager Chin Soon Sun reveals:

With the Beta demo more of the rewarding (yet dangerous) gameplay from the Alpha will be present. A new dojo stage will feature an intense training session which teaches the basics of Nioh’s samurai combat system. Players will also be able to explore a yet-to-be-announced stage.

A selection of new katana, spears, axes, and hammers will be available to collect to uniquely suit a player’s gameplay style. Players will also be able to add a few new weapons to their arsenal as well.

Sun also talked about how protagonist William Adams will be joined by other characters as he travels to Japan to become a samurai. Hanzo Hattori, the head of a famous ninja clan, will be his guide through the country, while Ginchiyo Tachibana (wife of Muneshige, the head of the Tachibana clan) will help him with her skilled fighting abilities.

After September 6, the Beta Demo will no longer be available for download or play.

Nioh is scheduled for release later this year, exclusively on PS4.
