Report Claims Crytek Employees Are Going Months Without Pay

It seems Crytek’s financial woes are ongoing after a new, damning report emerged today alleging that the company has not adequately paid its staff for months on end.

That’s according to one Reddit user claiming to be a current employee at Crytek’s headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany. Posting under the username CrytekThrowaway, the whistleblower claims that these issues aren’t necessarily isolated to Crytek’s home base in Frankfurt: “This isn’t just here in Germany. This is in all of our offices as far as I can tell.” Crytek Black Sea is one such developer to be affected by the fallout, and we understand that the Bulgarian studio is currently up for sale.

Per Reddit:

“I’m not sure where else to turn at this point. This has happened in the past a few times, but never for this long. Management never gives anyone a heads up, and it isn’t clear to me if they are getting paid or even informed from the owners.

“The last time this happened we were told it would be the last time and yet it is happening again. Many of my co-workers moved from out of the country to work here and are unable to leave because they cannot afford to get back home due to their wages being withheld for so long.”

Crytek faced a similar situation two years ago, when overdue payments and wages prompted staff to walk out from Crytek USA and various studios throughout Europe. Crytek UK, on the other hand, secured funding via Deep Silver to finish work on Homefront: The Revolution earlier in the year.

What do our readers make of these new allegations levelled against Crytek?
