Ghost Recon Wildlands: Next Beta Includes New Province, Acclaimed Writers Working on Narrative

Ubisoft has sent over an email to Ghost Recon Wildlands‘ closed beta participants, announcing that the game’s next open beta will include a new province from its open world. We don’t have a set date for the upcoming test but VG247 reports that given Ubisoft’s recent pattern with some of its other major releases, it’ll likely happen the weekend before launch.

In other Ghost Recon news, the developer announced via a press release that Wildlands‘ narrative is being penned by acclaimed writers Don Winslow (The Cartel) and Shane Salerno (Avatar sequels). While Winslow has best-selling novels under his belt, Salerno is currently working with James Cameron on sequels to the critically-acclaimed Avatar.

“I’ve written about drug cartels for more than twenty years and together with my writing partner Shane Salerno have brought that knowledge to the story, scenes, characters and dialogue found in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands,” said Winslow. “I’ve been a Tom Clancy fan ever since I first read The Hunt For Red October,” added Salerno. “It was a real thrill to work on this game with the team at Ubisoft, who are incredibly passionate and committed to delivering the best gaming experience possible for fans.”

Ghost Recon Wildlands is out on March 7 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
