Swery’s Next Game Is The Good Life, A Mystery RPG Where People Turn Into Cats

The next game from Hidetaka Suehiro (Deadly Premonition, D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die), aka Swery, is a mystery RPG called The Good Life, a message from crowdfunding site Fig reveals. The campaign will go live on September 2, but details on platforms and the funding goal are TBA.

Set in Rainy Woods, the self-proclaimed happiest town in the world, The Good Life follows Naomi, a photographer from New York who ends up stuck in the small English town. She soon discovers that, at night, all of the residents (including her) turn into cats and can’t seem to remember what they do during that time.

While playing as a cat, you’ll be able to access certain secret paths, rooftops, and attics as you try to find out what’s going on in Rainy Woods.

Here’s Swery’s message about The Good Life:

Hello everyone. I’m SWERY, the director of The Good Life.

Last November, I created my new studio, White Owls, and this is our first official announcement. From the bottom of my heart, I feel so proud to be announcing this game with Fig, a next-generation publisher.

This game will inherit the spirit of Deadly Premonition, my most representative work, but it will also feature a brand new style of gameplay. It’s a mystery game based on the framework of a ‘daily life RPG.’ I’m positive that the happiest town in the world and the most bizarre townspeople in the world will capture your heart and pull you deep into their world. Please support The Good Life and help us bring this game to life.

I’m sure this game will make a lot of people happy!

I Love You All!!

With The Good Life, Fig has lowered the minimum investment amount to $100 per share.

The Good Life was supposed to be officially announced at PAX West on September 2.
