Greed Corp Delayed, First Gameplay Video Released

In August, Dutch Developer W!Games announced their turn-based strategy title, Greed Corp, for the PlayStation Network. Soon after, PlayStation LifeStyle interviewed Nikki Kuppens, Game Designer at W!Games. She revealed that Greed Corp is a “game in which you have to face the consequences of harvesting resources to build your army with. On one hand, you need that army to fight off your opponents, but on the other hand, you need land to stand on, just like those opponents. Finding the correct balance and incorporating it into your overall strategy is what Greed Corp is about.” While the game was intitially scheduled for release last September, the title was pushed back indefinitely. Now, fresh information has been released as to when the game will be released, as well as bringing new screenshots and the first ever gameplay trailer.

Falling Building

The first in a series of games based in the Mistbound universe, Greed Corp is set in a world of feudal warfare and environmental destruction through industrial consumption. As one of four warring factions, players aim for territorial domination, whilst preserving the world’s natural resources. The game features a land collapsing mechanic which alters the landscape.

Greed Corp was nominated for the European Innovative Games Award 2009 (EIGA), an initiative which encourages the development of innovative video games.
