After news of the impending release of Vita system firmware update v2.05 mysteriously popped up on the official PlayStation website and then disappeared, the update is now properly out.
With no change log, and nothing seeming to have visibly changed, we’re going to go ahead and assume that it’s the usual system stability and anti-hacking measures (especially in light of the recent UNO security hole). The update is mandatory, so you have to download it to use most online features, but luckily, it doesn’t seem to be a large download and shouldn’t take too long, depending on your connection.
While we doubt there’s anything hidden, let us know if you find any special features, or if it broke your Vita.
Thanks for the tip, Matt!
