EA Confirms: Need for Speed on Next-Gen, Ultimate Team for FIFA 14 on PS4, Online Pass Still Valid for Previous Titles

You’d think that EA would’ve said everything they had to say already today, but there’s actually some more news coming from Electronic Arts.

First up, regarding FIFA Ultimate Team for FIFA 14, EA explained that the PlayStation 4 version of the game will include it, “with some exclusive content for #XboxOne.” So, you don’t have to worry about missing out on a big aspect of FIFA 14 on PS4, you’ll just be without some add-ons.

Sticking with next-gen news, EA confirmed that Need for Speed is headed to Xbox One, meaning a PS4 version is almost a given. For more information on this and “other” next-gen games, we’ll just have to wait until E3, but one game that doesn’t seem to be making the leap to next-gen is NHL 14.

To finish up the EA info, when it was announced that they were eliminating the Online Pass program for future titles, it left a question mark as to what this meant for already available games that require the pass. They cleared that up today by saying, “This change is for all future EA games from this point forward, no change to current games.” This means that for something like Crysis 3, you still need to have that code, otherwise you’re paying to go online.

Are you glad that Ultimate Team isn’t going anywhere in FIFA 14 on PS4? If Need for Speed launches this year on next-gen, would you get it on PS4 or PS4?
