The Catch-Up: May 24th, 2013 – Retailer Lists Batman: Arkham Origins for PS4, Visceral Hiring for a Next-Gen Star Wars

It’s Friday! So that means The Catch-Up isn’t as news-filled as most days in the week, but you’ll still be able to find a possible next-gen outing for Batman: Arkham Origins, the bad news regarding a GRID 2 demo, and more.

General News

  • Battlefield 3 multiplayer has crossed 1 billion hours played.
  • Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3 are having triple XP weekends until Tuesday.
  • There’s no current plans for a GRID 2 demo.
  • The developers of Hotline Miami have said that it is now running at 60fps on both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. Hopefully this means a release date is right around the corner.
  • Ninja Theory’s teaser from yesterday turned out to be just an announcement for Fightback, a mobile title (and not PlayStation Mobile).
  • A job posting on SoloGig revealed that Visceral Games (Dead Space) is hiring for a Next-Gen Star Wars title, which is currently in concept phase.
  • Mighty Ape, a New Zealand retailer, had briefly listed Batman: Arkham Origins for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but has since taken down the listing, leaving us to wonder if the Batman might make a leap to next-gen this year:
