Mark Cerny: PS4 Architecture and Indie Focus Could “Fundamentally Alter the Landscape of Gaming”

PlayStation 4 Lead Architect Mark Cerny has explained the way indie development has been supported by Sony over the years, and how things are different on the PS4.

Speaking at Develop, listen to his soft, sultry tones in this 11 minute video:

One highlight quote is when Cerny talks about how barriers for indie developers to get games on PlayStation have been lowered with the PS4, and that, with the launch of the new console, Sony “have an opportunity to fundamentally alter the landscape of gaming… I believe that the indie paradigm will have the hardware as enabler, not as the central player, which is to say that Octodad: Dadliest Catch isn’t about the triangle count, it’s about keeping your cephalopodian nature a secret from your human family.”
