PS3 Update 4.75 Out Now, is Mandatory

A mandatory download for all PlayStation 3 owners who wish to access the PlayStation Network, PS3 update 4.75 is available now and improves system stability.

As PlayStation Europe’s Chris Owen explained:

This is a mandatory update which improves system stability during use of some features.

If you’re wondering of any other changes, Owen added, “There wont be any noticeable changes to the XMB menu. This update is purely to improve system stability.”

You can download the update to a USB stick by heading over to either the US or UK PlayStation sites.

According to PlayStation UK, you’ll need 200MB of free space:

An update to the PlayStation 3 system software was released on 2 June 2015. If you update your PS3 system, the system software version will be 4.75 and the following features will be updated. In order to download PS3 system software version 4.75, you will need a minimum 200MB of free space on either the PS3 Hard Disk Drive (System Update) or on removable storage media (PC Update).

If you missed it, don’t forget that the June 2015 PlayStation Plus free games go live today in North America.
