Ark: Survival Evolved Can’t Release on PS4 Until It’s Finished, Says Studio Wildcard

After putting the console versions of Ark: Survival of the Fittest on hold “until we are able to map out a longer-term road-map for the project,” Studio Wildcard went on their forums today to reiterate that Ark: Survival Evolved won’t be coming to PlayStation 4 until it’s finished.

Ark: Survival Evolved is currently available in early access on Xbox One and PC, but Studio Wildcard says Sony isn’t letting them release it on PS4 until it’s complete:

As for the PS4 Release of ARK: Survival Evolved, it is currently up to Sony. We’ve been informed that we can’t release the game on this platform until it has been finished. We would like nothing more than to make ARK available on PS4 as soon as possible, as we already have an awesome PS4 version of the game running internally. If you would like to see it sooner, please let Sony know, as it’s unfortunately not our decision.

According to Community Manager Jat, Ark: Survival Evolved is still scheduled to be finished this holiday:

Earlier this year, Studio Wildcard talked about how there are a few exceptions to games releasing in early access on PS4, “but Ark is in the state where at present time unless it’s finished, it’s not coming out on PS4 until they have some other program that allows us to do that.”
