Thanks to Early Copies of Watch Dogs 2, We Know Its Seamless Multiplayer Feature is Being Fixed

Watch Dogs 2 doesn’t come out until Tuesday but copies have already made their way into the hands of consumers. In the UK, the leak comes courtesy of Amazon Prime, which has the game available with Prime’s 2-hour delivery option. When one Twitter user attempted to order it, he indeed received his copy. The issue has been reported on social media but we’re not sure if Amazon has pulled the plug on deliveries yet or not.

What’s important to note, however, is that the game’s seamless multiplayer feature was turned off. There’s an in-game notice that states the following:

There’s currently an issue with the seamless multiplayer feature causing the game to lag and crash periodically. To eliminate that issue, seamless multiplayer is offline until we’re able to fix it.

Apparently, reviewers were sent a notice by Ubisoft that it aims to fix the issue before the game’s launch and that it’s currently a priority. Of course, consumers wouldn’t have received that notice so here’s your heads-up.

Interestingly, the Twitter user who got his copy early from Amazon UK mentioned that the feature was turned back on and it ended up in a major performance dip. Until Ubisoft officially releases a statement, however, we can’t be sure if they’ve completed work on the feature or not.

We’ll update our readers when we have more info.
