11-11: Memories Retold DLC Will Provide Aid to War Child Charity

A handful of developers behind Valiant Hearts, in collaboration with the animation studio, Aardman, have been hard at work on 11-11: Memories Retold, set to release on November 9, 2018. The game is a vivid exploration of the human relationships that manifest within the chaotic folds of World War I. In an extra effort to bring the tragedies of war to light, Bandai Namco has announced plans to release DLC for the game which will share proceeds with the charity War Child, an organization that lends aid to children affected by the outcome of war. You can watch the video detailing the DLC plans, below, where actor Elijah Wood, voice of the game’s protagonist, discusses why this is an important step in helping children that have been caught in the crosshairs of conflict.

The DLC itself will follow the story of two young children, Jack and Eva, and how they come to deal with the tragedies befallen them as a result of the war. The DLC is apparently inspired by actual accounts from children supported by War Child, which will no doubt be a heartbreaking tale, but an important one no less. It will be available on the same day as the game’s release.

If, however, the game doesn’t seem to be your thing, and you’d still like to contribute to the organization’s efforts, you’re more than welcome to donate at the War Child website.

11-11: Memories Retold will no doubt be a provocative experience for those that want a better perspective of times during war. But this isn’t the only instance of the gaming community trying to pull together for charity. Panic Button recently held a gaming stream to support victims of hurricane Florence, while the Life is Strange team held a similar stream for suicide prevention. Let us know what you think of the gaming’s efforts for charity in the comments, below.
