Battlefield 2042 developer Jim Hejl has asked fans to “have faith fam” after they expressed concerns about the recently-announced delay.
In a series of tweets, Hejl reassured players that the project isn’t in any kind of trouble, but it needs “a little longer on spin cycle.”

And you should. It’s a solid game. This isn’t my first rodeo. It’s not a project in trouble. It just needs a little longer on spin cycle.

In a separate tweet, Hejl revealed that Battlefield 2042 is being developed on a 24-hour basis by a global team.
“Kinda interesting because of the geography of the studios, it’s literally being worked on every hour of the day,” he continued. “As one group taps out, another team is just waking up. It’s inspiring to witness. This project never sleeps.”
As for what he’s working on, Hejl revealed that he’s tweaking terrain tessellation “for max performance, without sacrificing anything visually.”
In response to a follower who said that it’s hard to trust DICE after Battlefield V, Hejl said that what developers do is “a creative endeavor,” which means that they can’t please everyone.
“Not everything is gonna hit. Nature of the game. It’s like the movie industry,” he concluded.
Battlefield 2042 will now release on November 19th instead of October 22nd. New dates for the multiplayer beta have yet to be announced.
