Blizzard Confirms Diablo III PS4 Patch Support, Save Transfer Instructions Detailed
Remember when we reported last month that the now-gen versions of Diablo III — Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition — won’t be updated at all by Blizzard? Well, apparently that’s changing — at least for the PlayStation 4 version.
In a post on the official US PlayStation Blog, Blizzard Production Director John Hight confirmed that due to the PS4’s architecture, they’ll be able to patch Diablo III almost as soon as the PC version.
One more cool piece of news for PS4 players: the next-gen console architecture makes it much easier for us to offer ongoing patch support for the PS4 version of the Ultimate Evil Edition. This means that as we continue to patch the game on PC, we’ll now be able to roll out related patch content, as appropriate, on PS4 as well. It’ll take some additional time beyond the PC patch rollout, but we’ll get them to you as quickly as possible.
Now, just in case you bought Diablo III for last-gen consoles, don’t forget you can transfer your save data from one platform to another — and yes, that even includes Xbox 360 to PS4 saves! Over on Battle.net, Blizzard posted the step-by-step instructions on how to transfer from PS3 to PS4 and Xbox 360 to PS4.
