Ratchet and Clank Movie Pushed to 2016, Cast Includes John Goodman & Sylvester Stallone

Update:

The Ratchet & Clank movie will be released on April 29, 2016 in the United States, Sony confirmed.

Original Story:

When it was announced more than two years ago, the Ratchet & Clank movie was given a tentative release window of 2015. Today, as part of a new poster for the movie, it’s confirmed we’ll have to wait until 2016 to see the film.

Along with this news, The Hollywood Reporter and IGN revealed some big names lending their voices to the cast, which already includes James Arnold Taylor as Ratchet, David Kaye as Clank, Armin Shimerman as Nefarious, and Jim Ward as Qwark, who are reprising their roles from the games.

  • Paul Giamatti – Chairman Drek
  • John Goodman – Grimroth
  • Bella Thorne – Cora
  • Rosario Dawson – Elaris
  • Sylvester Stallone – Victor

Rainmaker President and Chief Creative Officer Michael Hefferon talked about the movie:

The collaborative relationship between Rainmaker Entertainment, Sony PlayStation, Insomniac Games and all our partners has helped us to bring this massive game franchise to the big screen. Our outstanding celebrity talent together with the original voices from the game really bring these characters to life, and we are confident that Ratchet & Clank will delight fans with its authenticity and charm, while families everywhere will find a new family-friendly buddy duo to love.

In the film, Ratchet and Clank must team up to stop Chairman Drek, who is bent on destroying every planet in the Solana Galaxy.

We haven’t heard much about the PlayStation 4 re-imagining of Ratchet & Clank recently, so hopefully we’ll receive some news at E3 2015 next month.
