Hi-Rez Expo 2017

Hi-Rez Studios is hosting their annual Hi-Rez Expo event in Atlanta, Georgia this week, and are giving fans a good reason to watch the action unfold on Twitch. The developer announced today that fans who watch the SMITE and Paladins championships on Amazon’s popular streaming service will be able to get special loot drops. To be eligible, players will have to link their Hi-Rez and Twitch accounts over on the studio’s official website.

Twitch Prime subscribers will also be able to get an exclusive skin for one of SMITE‘s most popular Gods. Players that pony up for a Twitch Prime subscription will be able to claim an exclusive JT-6000 skin for Janus, the Roman god of beginnings. That’s not all, as the studio is also planning to give subscribers “additional rewards to be announced at HRX that will become available later in January.”

Here’s the full line-up of events that will be going on at the Hi-Rez Expo 2017 (description courtesy of Hi-Rez Studios):

  • WORLD-CLASS ESPORTS: This year’s Hi-Rez Expo rings in the new year with more competitive esports than any previous Hi-Rez event. Twenty-two teams from across the world converge in Atlanta to determine the SMITE PC World Champion, the SMITE Console World Champion and the Paladins $150,000 HRX Invitational winner. Full details for each championship are at esports.smitegame.com and esports.paladins.com.
  • COMMUNITY COSPLAY CONTEST: This year’s annual HRX Cosplay Contest features $15,000 in prizes across multiple categories. Judging occurs on Saturday, Jan. 7, with the winners presented on the main stage between the first and second SMITE PC semifinal.
  • SPECIAL GAME REVEALS: Fans will learn about upcoming new content and events in SMITE, Paladins, and SMITE Tactics, as well as other things coming from Hi-Rez Studios.
  • EXPO HALL: The HRX Expo Hall will feature playable versions of never-before-seen content across Hi-Rez’s games, as well as partner booths, meet-and-greets and more!

Those that are unable to make it to the sold out event in Atlanta, Georgia can also watch a viewing party of the grand finals of the SMITE PC World Championship on Sunday, January 8. Select Cinemark Theatres locations will be holding viewings at 5 PM EST. Showings can be found here.
