ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Producer Kenji Kaido Parts Ways With SCE

Sony has lost yet another talented mind, as Kenji Kaido, producer of both ICO and Shadow of the Colossus has announced that he is leaving Sony Computer Entertainment.

His departure from the company was made public by a post on his official Twitter, saying: “I have some news. This August, I left Sony Computer Entertainment. My plans for the future are undecided as of now, but for the time being I’m going to continue my summer vacation.”

Kaido is not involved in Team ICO’s current project The Last Guardian, so this news should have no bearing on the progress of that troubled PS3 title. This however does hit Sony pretty hard, as news of his departure doesn’t come all that long after Fumito Ueda announced he was leaving the company late last year. Ueda however, is still working with Sony to see The Last Guardian through to completion.

Let us know what you think the future holds for Team ICO and SCEJ in the comments below.
