Visceral Games Testing Bad Company 2 Class Balance in Battlefield Hardline Multiplayer

While Battlefield: Bad Company 3 won’t be coming anytime soon, at least the next game in the franchise — Battlefield Hardline — is using Bad Company 2’s formula in multiplayer.

This was revealed by Visceral Games’ Lead Multiplayer Designer Thad Sasser over on Twitter while interacting with fans. According to Sasser, Hardline’s TGS build followed the Bad Company 2 class setup where the Medic class was using an LMG (lightmachine gun) rather than an assault rifle.

However, before you get too excited, this isn’t confirmed to be in the final game just yet, with Sasser adding, “Were still experimenting with the best combos though..So we’ll see what we discover!.”

As someone who loved Bad Company 2, I hope Visceral Games takes more cues from that game to further differentiate Hardline from Battlefield 4. With the game pushed back to a February 2015 release, the studio has more than enough time to do it. Let’s just hope they actually push through with these ideas.

Would you want how classes were set up in Bad Company 2 or do you prefer them the way DICE made ’em in BF3 and BF4?
