Assassin’s Creed Unity Controls to Take Series Vets “A Few Hours” to Adapt To

Assassins Creed Unity Preview

According to Assassin’s Creed Unity senior producer Vincent Pontbriand, it will take players of the previous Assassin’s Creed titles “a few hours” to get used to the new controls of the upcoming PlayStation 4 and Xbox One game.

In a recent interview with VideoGamer.com, Pontbriand admitted that he was concerned that gamers may get upset about the controls, which will feature an all new stealth button.

Yes, to be honest, it is [a concern] for me a little bit. It takes a few days, well, maybe I’m exaggerating, it takes a few hours to re-train yourself to force yourself to forget what we call the ‘Assassin’s Claw’, holding RT and A and pushing forward. But it becomes second nature. Obviously I’ve been working on this for a long time and playing the game every day for months now. So now it’s become second nature to use A to go up, B to go down.

In the quote, Pontbriand is, of course, talking about Xbox One controls, but the PS4 controls are supposed to be just as tricky to get used to. Assassin’s Creed Unity is scheduled to come out on November 11.

What do you think about the apparently tricky controls? Do you want this new system, or do you like the controls the way they have been in previous Assassin’s Creed titles?
