Nolan North Says Naughty Dog Is Making The Last of Us 2, Troy Baker Says He Knows Nothing

To go along with his comments about Amy Hennig and Uncharted 4 at MetroCon 2015 earlier this month, Uncharted and The Last of Us voice actor Nolan North appeared to reveal that The Last of Us 2 is happening.

Asked by a fan if he had any more projects lined up with Naughty Dog after Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, North said:

For now, last one. I know they’re doing Last of Us 2.

He went on to talk about his character in The Last of Us, but we’ll leave that out to avoid spoilers.

In a separate panel at Indy PopCon last weekend, The Last of Us voice actor Troy Baker, who played Joel, said he knew nothing about a potential sequel:

I know nothing. I don’t know if we’re gonna do another one or not. If we do, then I trust Neil [Druckmann, Creative Director] and Bruce [Straley, Game Director] and everyone at Naughty Dog to tell a story that needs to be told.

Asked about the setting/timeline for a sequel, Baker hinted that he’d like to visit the events before the main game. “You know, spoiler, when you go from the prologue and then credits and then cut to 20 years later, you see a completely different guy,” he said.

Naughty Dog has talked about the chances of a sequel many times before, but in January 2015, Druckmann said, “We have brainstormed sequel ideas for The Last of Us, and we’ve brainstormed ideas for new games, but all of that is put on ice right now while we work on Uncharted 4.”
