Square Enix Will Consider a Western Release for Dragon Quest XI, No Concrete Plans Yet

Announced earlier today for the PlayStation 4 and 3DS, Dragon Quest XI isn’t currently scheduled to release in North America or Europe, but that could change.

Asked by Eurogamer if they had any plans for a Western release of DQXI, Square Enix said:

We don’t have a concrete plan at the moment. However, we will consider it as we’ve done in the past for other Dragon Quest titles. We don’t have further information to share at the moment.

Receiving help from Orca when it comes to development, Square Enix says DQXI will use Unreal Engine 4 and feature an open world.

If you missed the announcement today, you can see the PS4 version above, with the whole presentation below:

Also during the presentation, Dragon Quest X was announced for PS4 and Dragon Quest Heroes II on PS4, PS3, and PS Vita was revealed to have multiplayer.

The first Dragon Quest Heroes, Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below, releases in North America and Europe this October. You can read our PS4 import review over here.
