Worlds of Magic Is Now Planar Conquest, Arrives in Q2 2016 on PS4, Xbox One & PC

From Wastelands Interactive, turn-based strategy game Planar Conquest is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in Q2 2016, with an iOS version available now.

Back in February 2015, Wastelands Interactive announced that Worlds of Magic would be coming to PlayStation 4 in Q3 2015, following a PC release on March 19, but it never happened. In its place, they are releasing Planar Conquest, which is a “reimagined and immensely enhanced version of Worlds of Magic.”

CEO Leszek Lisowski explained why they made the changes to this Kickstarter-funded 4X (explore, expand, exploit, exterminate) game:

We know that Worlds of Magic had lots of issues. We fixed many of them in subsequent updates, but we’ve eventually realized that if we want to unleash the full potential of our 4X project, we need to overhaul it and relaunch it. That’s how Planar Conquest was born. The game will not only feature new UI, enhanced AI, and revamped graphics, but also will be expanded with cross-platform multiplayer, intuitive map editor, and more. Best of all, Planar Conquest will be free to everyone who already owns Worlds of Magic.

The description for Planar Conquest says, “Become an all-powerful Sorcerer Lord and lead one of 8 different races to the ultimate victory. Explore multiple planes of existence, raid dungeons, and conquer cities. Expand your armies, cast mighty spells, and summon godly creatures to do your bidding.”

The above trailer is for the iOS version.
