Overwatch Heads to Busan in a New Map

Overwatch‘s D.Va is stepping into the spotlight. The Overwatch Korean Fan-Fest revealed a Busan map, inspired by her homectown, will be added to the game. Also, after giving Mei her own short at gamescom 2017, the spotlight was on D.Va at gamescom 2018. This year’s short looks at what the heroine’s life is like.

We had an idea the map was coming, as Blizzard previously-teased it. It is inspired by the South Korean city of Busan. The team shooter’s newest map will be used for Control matches and covers three key locations. There’s a quiet and peaceful Sanctuary with a temple, a high-energy Downtown area, and the MEKA Base.

Here’s our first look at Overwatch’s Busan map, which is immediately playable on the Public Test Realm:

The gamescom 2018 Overwatch short is called “Shooting Star.” The short portrays D.Va, whose real name is Hana Song, as one of Busan’s dedicated heroes. Unfortunately, she’s one that has the weight of an entire civilization on her shoulders. When a surprise Omnic attack targets her city, she learns that sometimes you can’t do everything by yourself.

Overwatch is available now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
