When the Next Generation Portable was announced, it was confirmed that developer Nihilistic Software would be developing a Resistance title for the platform. Insomniac Games – the original studio which created the Resistance franchise – however, are not interested in the NGP, and have no plans on developing a title for the powerful handheld device.

Ratchet & Clank developer Insomniac Games has stated that they will not be looking to produce a title for the Next Generation Portable any time soon and would rather focus all its efforts into the PlayStation 3 as well as their new unannounced IP that is also coming to the Xbox 360.

During a community day where gamers could play Resistance 3, Insomniac’s community manager James Stevenson said the developer is currently “totally focused on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360”.

However, Insomniac will still support Sony’s portable developers, but the acclaimed studio said that developing NGP games are “probably not something we would develop in-house”.
