Remedy Talks Max Payne 3, Franchise is in Good Hands at Rockstar

The Max Payne franchise originally belonged to developer Remedy Games, who passed off the franchise a couple of years ago to work on the Microsoft exclusive Alan Wake. Rockstar Games took on the beloved series at that point and, judging by how Max Payne 3 is coming along, there’s no need for Remedy to fear that their iconic franchise will be tarnished.

In an interview Kotaku had with franchise development head Oskari Hakkinen of Remedy Games at this year’s CES, Hakkinen expressed his confidence in Rockstar’s ability to deliver with Max Payne 3.

We absolutely love what they’ve done and couldn’t be more proud of where the series is headed. I mean, they don’t really make shitty games, do they? It’s as if the Rockstar logo has become this, ‘Seal of quality.’

Rockstar Games has already proven that they can make quality games time and time again, so there is little reason to doubt that they’ll do it again with Remedy’s baby.

Max Payne 3 is set to launch this March.
