Mad Max & Just Cause 3 Release Dates Seemingly Revealed by Avalanche Studios Founder

November 7, 2013Written by Jason Dunning

With Mad Max from Avalanche Studios, we’d previously been told that it will release sometime in 2014 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.

According to Avalanche Studios Founder and Creative Director Christofer Sundberg’s LinkedIn profile (via Videogamer), he appears to call out Mad Max’s release date as April 2014:

Avalanche Studios first licensed game, developed based on a well-known movie license… is scheduled for release in April 2014.

The listing for the game has since been edited to read “Avalanche Studios is honored to bring the Mad Max license into our worlds,” with no date shown anymore, so it could have been a previous estimate.

Something that wasn’t edited on his profile was a listing for Unnanounced Sandbox Action game (Square Enix), which has apparently been in development since August 2011, and will be out in June 2015 for PS4 and Xbox One. Judging by Sundberg’s description of this game, we can make an accurate assumption that he’s talking about Just Cause 3:

New installment in a very well-known game series. The game is being developed at Avalanche Studios New York studio and is scheduled for completion in June 2015 for next generation console platforms.

We’ll let you know once more information is revealed for Mad Max and that “Unnanounced Sandbox Action game.”
