Baseball spring training is right around the corner, and it’s now been confirmed that Sony’s MLB 14: The Show will be the only console baseball game on the market this year (sorry Xbox owners!), with 2K deciding not to renew the license.
Noticed earlier today by Pasta Padre, Take-Two has purged their website and forums of anything to with MLB 2K, even going so far as to get rid of the MLB 2K Facebook Page.
Following this discovery, 2K Sports offered up this statement to Polygon:
We have decided not to renew our MLB 2K series for 2014. We are very proud of the achievements made by the MLB 2K team and look forward to their contributions to our future titles, including NBA 2K – our industry’s #1 rated and #1 selling basketball franchise.
