Watch Dogs Sets More Records, Sells Over 4 Million Copies in First Week

We already know it set day 1 records for Ubisoft and week 1 records the UK, and today, Ubisoft has confirmed that Watch Dogs sold 4 million copies worldwide during its first week on the market across PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.

With these impressive numbers, Ubisoft has said, “The game is now the best-selling new IP at launch across the entire video game industry.” The company added that Watch Dogs holds the title of best-selling Ubisoft game during its first week.

Tony Key, Ubisoft’s Senior VP of Sales and Marketing, talked about the success of Watch Dogs:

With such strong sales momentum and positive feedback from gamers, Watch Dogs has positioned itself as the must-have game of the moment. We’re really proud of this achievement, and are confident that the Watch Dogs brand has a promising future.

Of course, things still aren’t perfect for Watch Dogs, with the official Twitter account saying today, “We’re aware some of you are stuck on the loading screen. We’re hard at work on isolating the problem to find a fix. If you’re encountering that issue, please submit a ticket to http://support.ubi.com  to help move forward. Thanks for understanding.”
