Ubisoft Addresses Assassin’s Creed Golden Age Leak, It’s Not the Next Assassin’s Creed Game

Reports emerged online yesterday that Ubisoft had accidentally revealed the name of an unannounced Assassin’s Creed title called Golden Age. The source of the rumor was apparently a graduate program brochure, which shows two employees looking over a sheet with that title on top. Ubisoft has now released a statement saying that Assassin’s Creed Golden Age is not the name of an unannounced project, and as a matter of fact, it’s a game we’ve all already played. When several websites and publications contacted the company for a comment, it released the following statement to all:

“Before we officially announce a game to the world, we use a working title or code name to refer to a project internally. Assassin’s Creed Golden Age was the internal name given to Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag. It is not the name of any future Assassin’s Creed title.”

There you go! Black Flag it is. That said, Ubisoft has recently confirmed that it’s already working on the next Assassin’s Creed title, which will be set in Victorian England. The company has also revealed that last year’s Assassin’s Creed Unity and Rogue managed to ship ten million units combined.
