Report: Assassin’s Creed Syndicate PS4 Preview Build Suffered From Technical Issues, Troubles Hitting 30fps

Update:

Eurogamer also went hands-on with Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, but their experience was quite the opposite:

It’s clear that Syndicate is an Assassin’s Creed game, but it’s also clear that another year of technical knowledge and fine-tuning for the game’s engine has produced a far better and more stable result. In the early build we played, Syndicate ran smoothly at all times.

Original Story:

With new Assassin’s Creed Syndicate previews and gameplay videos going live today, VideoGamer has voiced their concerns about the new entry into the series, saying it still suffers from major technical issues and, “if I were Ubisoft, I’d be seriously considering a delay.”

Playing Syndicate on PlayStation 4, VideoGamer said it “instantly” felt like last year’s Assassin’s Creed Unity. Keeping in mind that it’s a pre-release build, they say, “It has the same issues hitting 30fps, with constant stuttering and a wildly fluctuating frame rate, as well as the same 900p resolution (Ubisoft is yet to confirm the resolution, but it certainly didn’t look 1080p).”

While there’s still a month to go until Syndicate launches for PS4 and Xbox One on October 23, VideoGamer is worried about the final product because “these same issues were present in Unity’s preview builds, just as they were in its eventual release.”

In the gameplay video above provided by Ubisoft, VideoGamer says it runs at a smoother frame-rate than the build they played last week.

As you may recall, Ubisoft delayed Unity last year by two weeks because there was still some work to be done.

On a positive note, previews are saying the story, gameplay, and setting in Syndicate are a step up from Unity, and the ability to switch between Jacob and Evie is a welcome addition.
