Capcom to Consider Expanding Classic Fighter Alex’s Role in Street Fighter V

Classic fighter Alex will appear in Street Fighter V, but not as part of the roster. The character is currently set to have a minor, non-playable role in the game, but creator Yoshinori Ono took the stage at New York Comic Con 2015 to say that he will consider expanding Alex’s role in Street Fighter V. Speaking to the audience through a translator, Ono said:

I was made very aware of how much you guys want Alex, so I will definitely take that with me to Japan.

I will do what I can to [expand his appearance in the game].

While Capcom didn’t have any new characters to reveal during the event, the developer recently confirmed the inclusion of Zangief and Laura Matsuda in the game’s roster.

Street Fighter V is scheduled for release in 2016 for the PlayStation 4 and PC. A second beta test for the game will commence on October 22.
