Hitman Adds Free Holiday-Themed Mission Next Week

The first season of IO Interactive’s Hitman may have wrapped up, but the Copenhagen-based studio is still adding new content to the game. The next update will come December 13, 2016, and will feature a festive theme to go with it. Taking place in a winter-themed version of Paris that is filled with Christmas trees and decorations, players will attempt to stop two thieves that are trying to steal the presents.

Here’s how the developer explained the new mission, titled Holiday Hoarders:

The ‘Holiday Hoarders’ mission gives a festive feeling to the existing Paris location with snow, decorations and even presents, which have been scattered all around the palace. Unfortunately, not everyone in attendance at the fashion show is there to spread festive joy. Two thieves have gained entrance to the fashion show event and are stealing the presents. As Agent 47, it’s your job to stop them, for good. If you are able to get to the presents first, feel free to open them and use whatever you find inside to help eliminate these two sticky bandits…

While it’s awesome that IO Interactive is adding a new mission to the game, the reason behind it is actually even better. This Hitman update is being released in support of the World Cancer Research Fund. IO Interactive is asking players to donate whatever they can to the fund (donate here). A donation isn’t required, and the developer knows that not everyone is in a position to give, but please consider giving if you’ve enjoyed the first season of Hitman.
