Update 2: It has now been confirmed that Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection is going to be available on July 9th for $49.99, complete with the art book.
Update: Best Buy has added their listing for The Legacy Collection, but they give it a June 18th release date, while also not mentioning the art book anywhere.
Once we get any official word from Konami about a price and release date, we’ll let you know.
Original Story: Back when Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection was announced, Konami handed it a June 2013 release window and failed to give it a price. Thanks to Amazon, we now know how much it costs, and when it’s likely to release.
Running you $49.99, they give The Legacy Collection a Tuesday, July 9th release date. Since Amazon has a price protection guarantee, even if you pre-order the game now and the price goes up later, you still pay just $49.99.
As a refresher, here’s everything included for the PS3 exclusive collection:
- Metal Gear Solid
- Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions
- Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty HD Edition
- Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater HD Edition (which includes the MSX versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2)
- Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition
- Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition
- Two Ashley Wood digital graphic novels
- 100 page artbook spanning the 25 year history of Metal Gear Solid
Now that you know the price for Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection, are you going to buy it? Or did you purchase the HD Collection and don’t need this? Let us know in the comments below.
