Basement Crawl on PS4 Delayed; Gunslugs Accidentally Released on the EU PlayStation Store, Pulled

It was an interesting time for the PlayStation Store in Europe this afternoon, with Gunslugs on PS Vita, which was originally planned for mid-February, being made available for purchase at £1.99/€2.49.

This came as a shock to the game’s developer OrangePixel, who said on Twitter, “Bit surprised but we just noticed: Gunslugs NOW LIVE ON PS VITA (EU Store at least).. so go get it please :).” Quickly after they issued that announcement the game was pulled down, with OrangePixel later adding:

Gunslugs Vita is gone again! someone wanted to play it so badly he pushed the “publish NOW” button too soon… it will be back end February!

Weirdness, chaos and madness … that’s Gunslugs! :). It will be back on PS Store end of February!! Please stay enthusiastic ;).

While OrangePixel is saying end of February for Gunslugs in Europe, Jawad Ashraf of the PlayStation Store team explained, “Unfortunately we have had to pull Gunslugs off of today’s release schedule. Please accept our apologies. We hope to release this again quite soon (mid February tracking) so please keep an eye on the blog for further announcements.”

Whenever it comes out in Europe, we’ll do our best to let you know, but the February 11th in North America and February 12th in Europe date originally planned seems like a healthy bet.

As for another game, Basement Crawl on PS4, it was supposed to release today in the European PlayStation Store but never did. Bloober CEO Piotr Babieno offered up this reasoning to IGN about the game’s delay in Europe, and now North America:

While the completed version of Basement Crawl was prepped for launch during the last week, several exciting opportunities to partner with major industry players to enhance, refine and add-to the game arose.

Although a difficult decision, we decided that the best choice for us, as a team, was to delay Basement Crawl so that we could take full advantage of these opportunities. We will be able leverage those new partnerships to further grow and improve the game while still providing an amazingly fun multiplayer experience for PS4 owners. We’ll be able to announce more details in the days and weeks to come.
