General News

  • Gio Corsi, Director of Third Party Production for PlayStation (they helped make Borderlands 2 on Vita a reality), said of his Building the List campaign, “Won’t announce games until they’re real. No false promises, no lies, only real talk. News coming, be ready!” [Twitter]
  • As part of a much larger interview, Cliff Bleszinski said, “The whole ‘old guard,’ where you get a Game Informer cover and an E3 reveal, is dead.I’ll never make another disc-based game for the rest of my career, and [at E3] they’re trying to woo buyers from Target and Walmart?” [Full Interview]
  • To follow up from the news yesterday, Activision has confirmed “they have something in the works with Tony Hawk, more info is coming soon.” No other details were revealed, so we’ll just have to wait for that info coming soon. [Source]
  • In a poll conducted at GDC last year with over 2,600 developers, 20% of them said they will release their next game on PS4, while 17% of developers said they were planning to bring their game to Xbox One. The survey also showed 14% of devs are working on PS3 (up from 13.2% the previous year), 12% on Xbox 360 (down from 14%), and just 4% on Wii U (down from 6.4%). [Source]
  • From today until Monday, it’s a double XP event for Call of Duty: Ghosts on all platforms! [Source]
  • The wait for Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition will take a little bit longer as it “needs some more time in the “port oven”.” We’ll let you know once a release date has been narrowed down. [Twitter]
  • One thing from Devolver Digital you won’t be waiting long for is the Serious Sam 3 PS3 port, which has passed certification in North America and is awaiting certification in Europe. “Then release date.” [Twitter]
  • Rayman Legends Lead Game Designer Emile Morel revealed that development on the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game began in July, with a “rather small team” finishing up the game by December. Rayman Legends released earlier this month on new-gen consoles. [Source]
  • To celebrate over 160,000 player-made photos snapped and shared in Tearaway, the European PlayStation Store has the game on sale until February 26th for €16.99/£12.99. [Source]
  • According to Amazon (and pretty much every other retailer), LEGO The Hobbit will be released in North America on April 8th. If true, expect confirmation soon. [Source]
  • The next major update for Warframe on PS4 will bring Tenno Research Lab, a new addition to the Dojo, which will serve as the creation place for a new Warframe. [More Info]
  • Hohokum Co-Creator Richard Hogg recently said, “I can’t give you a release date at the moment. We are still working on the game. and are on-schedule. Sorry I can’t tell you more.” [Source]
