Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Multiplayer to Have the “Biggest Set of New,” Claims Sledgehammer Games

Most critics have chided Call of Duty for rehashing the core gameplay every year, but that seems to be changing with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

In an interview with Metro, Sledgehammer Games co-founders Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield talked about the Advanced Warfare multiplayer that’s most likely going to be the the game’s bread-and-butter. Not only did they confirm that the exoskeleton suit that we see in its E3 trailer will be available, but Condrey calls the game’s multiplayer “the biggest set of new.”

Michael Condrey: Our multiplayer has what I’m going to call the biggest set of new, as you call it, cool gear that you’ve seen in a long time. It’s a big step forward, from three years in development we’ve been able to innovate across the game. Everything you saw today… just imagine what that’s going to mean for multiplayer.

The duo also stresses that even if the tech seen in the game is set in the far future, the roots of it are very much in the present day. Be it the direct energy guns, exo suits, walking tanks and such.

Could Advanced Warfare’s multiplayer really be the game changer that fans of the series have been asking for? We’ll know for sure once the game hits retail in November for the PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One and PC.
