Titanfall 2 Reveal “Will Be Worth the Wait,” Promises Respawn Co-Founder

Earlier today, Respawn Entertainment Co-Founder Vince Zampella said, “We continue to focus on Titanfall. Next year is going to be a very big year for Titanfall,” as he announced a partnership to bring the franchise to mobile devices in 2016.

Partnering with Nexon, the deal will see multiple games over multiple years, with “several new and original” Titanfall games coming to iOS and Android. They won’t just put the same game on a tablet though, with Zampella explaining to Polygon, “We’re not of the view that you take a first-person shooter that’s great on a console and PC and just put it on mobile. You have to work with what the platform can do.”

As for the big Titanfall game coming to consoles, Zampella was asked if he could give an update on the status of Titanfall 2, which is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. He replied:

I can’t say just yet. I promise that it will be worth the wait.

EA previously said that Titanfall 2 likely won’t release until Fiscal Year 17, which runs from April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017.

What do you think about Respawn expanding the Titanfall franchise?
