Update (Dec 21):
Users have reported an additional seven games leaving PS Plus Extra/Premium soon. The full list, so far, now includes:
- Seasons After Fall
- Bound By Flame
- Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom
- Masters of Anima
- The Council (complete season)
- Electronic Super Joy
- Jumpjet Rex
- Leo’s Fortune HD Edition
- Enigmatis: The Ghost of Maple Creek
- Space Hulk: Tactics
- The Last Tinker: City of Colors
At least four games are leaving PS Plus Extra, Premium in January 2023. According to the PS Store, Bound by Flame, Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom, The Council (complete season), and Space Hulk: Tactics will all expire on January 17th.
Will the games leaving PS Plus Extra, Premium return?
As a reminder, PS Plus Extra and Premium games aren’t yours to keep, unlike PS Plus Essential line-ups. When the aforementioned games leave the catalog, you will lose access. That said, you won’t lose your progress if you’ve already started any of the games. Players are required to purchase the full game in order to continue.
Since the revamped PS Plus is still somewhat in its infancy, don’t expect games that leave the service to return anytime soon. From the list above, The Council is the quickest and easiest to beat since it’s an episodic adventure akin to Telltale Games. If you’re opting for the main story, Space Hulk tactics is the next shortest game on the list (approximately 10 hours to beat), followed by Bound by Flame (13 hours), and Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom (16 hours).
There’s a slight chance that more games will leave PS Plus soon. Unfortunately, Sony doesn’t announce this, and the list above was compiled on Reddit.
We’ll keep our eyes peeled.
