Dead Island Ships Three Million Units Since Launch

While some say the zombie genre is overcrowded, demand for the undead game Dead Island has propelled the title to success, with the publisher revealing that it has shipped three million copies since its release in September.

Aubrey Norris, Manager of Marketing & PR for Deep Silver told Game Informer the big news:

Dead Island has sold very, very well over the holiday season and we are thrilled that it has sustained a robust level of sell-through since launch in September

Deep Silver didn’t disclose any details regarding the number of units sold to consumers, but the game having shipped so much is a good sign that it has sold well. It is rumored that a sequel is already in development, something that would make sense considering the success of the first game.
