PSLS Presents – StormDain Productions

psls-presents

Take a trip back in time with me, and rewind the clock to March 22nd, 2008.  Is that date familiar to any of you? It should be. That’s the day that Anthony Severino decided all on his own to put his thoughts an opinions on the gaming industry onto the Internet, and sev1512.wordpress.com was born.

Fast forward to today, and that initial effort has become the site you all know and love, PlayStation LifeStyle.  The site is now gaining lots of respect and a great following, thanks to Anthony’s heavy contributions and legwork, the choosing of a dedicated staff, and of course, all of you readers.  I’m not sure if we say this enough, but to you readers that keep coming back day after day and telling people about us – thank you.

I bring all of that up because I thought it would be interesting if we sometimes would give a nod to other people that are trying to pave their way in this very competitive industry.  People who are doing something and trying to make a name for themselves, just as we once were.  Thus was born what I intend to make new regular feature: PSLS Presents, where we highlight some of the more promising things in this business.

For this first feature, some back story is required.  I recently returned a movie to my local video store, and ended up talking to another customer about movies and games.  This turned into a 3 hour discussion, and over the course of that he mentioned to me he does humorous game reviews on YouTube.  I asked him to write down the address, and promised I’d check it out.

I was impressed with the humor and production.  This is his Resident Evil 5 review, which I absolutely loved.

If you like what you see, by all means subscribe to his videos at the link here, then leave a comment telling him how you heard about him. As for this feature, tell me what you guys think of it in the comments below. And if feature stories like this (minus the long back story) are something you’d like to see more of, then I’ll try to make it a weekly feature.

Update: I contacted Storm and asked him for a paragraph introducing himself to you guys, without further ado…

“Yes, [my] name is really Storm. Now that I got that out of the way, I am a Software Engineer in Reno that really enjoys playing video games. I starting reviewing games on YouTube as a hobby and some people really like them. I was tired of labeling them reviews, like everyone else, so I started calling the adventures. Generic, yes, but different. I started reviewing games only for the Wii because it was the only console I had and as time progressed, the natural progression was to expand to more consoles so I could cover games that were only released on the XBox 360 and PlayStation 3. I hope everyone can enjoy my stuff.”
