Treyarch Drives Up PSN Activity Considerably with Call of Duty: Black Ops

Heading toward the holiday season, Call of Duty has managed to top the charts once again with Call of Duty: Black Ops. The series has a long history of sales dominance, and this year’s iteration is no different. According to Sony, Black Ops has driven the traffic of PSN up significantly.

According to SCEA CEO Jack Tretton, Call of Duty: Black Ops is following the success of previous titles in the series with a huge force of players. Jack Tretton said the following:

“Call of Duty: Black Ops has been an incredible success on PlayStation 3, Treyarch’s latest efforts are driving unprecedented traffic to the PlayStation Network with the flagship online experience this holiday season.”

Modern Warfare 2 remained one of, if not the most played online games on the PSN for over a year. Black Ops has managed to top the record-breaking sales of Modern Warfare 2, so it’s no surprise that it’s being played by so many consumers world-wide.
