Bloodborne Update Scheduled for Next Week to Fix Progression Issue (Update)

Update (March 31):

Coming in at around 100MB, Bloodborne update 1.02 is now available to download on PlayStation 4.

Here’s the official patch notes:

  • Fixes the issue of not being able to obtain the “Lunarium Key” once the user partakes in online multiplayer as a co-operative guest by using the “Small Resonant Bell” or as a hostile guest by using the “Sinister Resonant Bell” in the area, “Forbidden Woods”.
  • Bug fixes.

It also appears the item duplication exploit has been fixed as well.

Original Story:

As part of a press release sent out today, Sony confirmed that a small number of players have experienced a progression bug within Bloodborne where a specific item wouldn’t appear properly. Thanks to player feedback, From Software has been able to quickly identify and recreate the bug, and a fix is expected next week.

MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD

The item not appearing properly is the Lunarium Key in Byrgenwerth, with Sony detailing the criteria for this bug:

This bug occurs once the user initiates online multiplayer as a co-op guest (by using the “Small Resonant Bell”) or as a hostile invader (by using the “Sinister Resonant Bell”) in the “Forbidden Woods” area.

To fix this issue, a 1.02 hotfix is being finalized for release next week, though an exact time is still to be determined.

In the meantime, Sony suggests that you don’t use either the Small Resonant Bell or Sinister Resonant Bell in the Forbidden Woods until the hotfix is deployed.

What next week’s update won’t include are those planned improvements to load times and performance. “Those refinements will be included later in a separate patch,” Sony said.

Have you been experiencing any bugs within Bloodborne? Are there any changes you’d like to see From Software make in a future update?
