While Take-Two was vague about Battleborn’s release window in their financial results, it won’t be long before we learn more about the game, as more details are set to arrive as we approach E3 2015 next month.
Speaking in the earnings call yesterday, President Karl Slatoff re-iterated that Battleborn from Gearbox is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. He continued:
Battleborn is a first-person shooter with a deep roster of unique playbook heroes. Through the game’s accelerated character growth system, every hero can be fully experienced in a single story mode mission or multi-player match. Next month, Battleborn will be at E3 in a big way and we will have more news to share about the title prior to the show.
Saying Battleborn is releasing in 2015, the official Twitter account teased an image on May 11, then another on May 18. The numbers on each image appear to be random, but people are speculating that it points towards more information coming on either May 20 or May 27.
Battleborn won’t be the only thing getting a lot of attention next month, as 2K will have a “significant presence” at E3 2015, with many of their upcoming releases on display.
As for that unannounced AAA title from 2K, it’s planned for release this fiscal year (before March 31, 2016). Asked if we’ll hear about it at E3, Slatoff replied, “Yeah, you’ll learn more on when 2K announces it.”
