If you’ve been hemming and hawing about pre-ordering the PS4 Pro, and Gamestop was one of your considerations for purchase, you might want to get a move on. Word is coming down from numerous Gamestop store managers that the chain will close pre-orders this Thursday, September 15, 2016. Gamestop hasn’t properly announced this, but store managers and employees have let the word slip to The Outerhaven.
It’s possible this is not true or perhaps even a publicity stunt to encourage an influx of pre-orders under the guise of a shortage. But it is something to consider when making pre-order plans. Another thing to consider is the fact that if you do place a pre-order for a PS4 Pro with Gamestop, the retailer will require a $50 deposit. It’s also worth noting that pre-orders are still open on both Best Buy and Amazon.
The PS4 Pro is an upgraded version of the standard PlayStation 4 console that will support 4K, HDR, and better performance for PlayStation VR. It’s currently up for pre-order for $399.99 and will release on November 10, 2016.
