EA Announces Apex Legends Preseason Invitational Tournament

Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment have announced an official PC tournament for Apex Legends, known as the Preseason Invitational, which will test even the most skilled of players. The official Electronic Arts website provided details on where the event will take place, what the rules are, and the schedule for events leading into the Preseason Invitational tournament.

There are two competitions leading into the Preseason Invitational. The EXP Pro-Am Apex Legends Exhibition was held on July 11, 2019 in Los Angeles, California. It was an invite-only event that had a $25,000 charity prize pool.  The X Games Minneapolis Apex Legends EXP Invitational will be held August 2-3, 2019 in Minneapolis, MN for people who were invited or qualified online. It will have a $150,000 prize pool with medals.

The Preseason Invitational tournament will take place in Krakow, Poland and have a total prize pool of $500,000. The tournament will run from September 13-15, 2019 and will see 80 different teams of three players from all over the world face off against one another to compete for the prize money and bragging rights. This tournament is invitation only. If you want to compete with the best of the best, you will need to send an email to EA to apply for a spot in the event.

The cash prizes for the Preseason Invitational in Krakow, Poland are as follows:

  • 1st – $105,000
  • 2nd – $75,000
  • 3rd – $60,000
  • 4th – $48,000
  • 5th – $39,000
  • 6th – $30,000
  • 7th – $24,000
  • 8th – $18,000
  • 9th – $15,000
  • 10th – $12,000
  • 11th – $9,000
  • 12th – $8,400
  • 13th – $7,800
  • 14th – $7,200
  • 15th – $6,600
  • 16th – $6,000
  • 17th – $5,700
  • 18th – $5,400
  • 19th – $5,100
  • 20th – $4,800
  • Apex Predator – $8,000 (Most kills over the course of the Finals)

The website also clarified that if multiple players tie for the Apex Predator position, the rewards will be split up evenly among those players.

Recently Apex Legends Season 2 was released. It brought with it a new Legend known as Wattson, who uses electrical traps to lock down areas for her team. The L-Star EMG, two new Hop-Up attachments and the introduction of the game’s Ranked Leagues, complete with a unique set of rewards were also added.
