Metro City Gets More Representation With the Latest Street Fighter V Roster Additions

It’s Evo time, and that means thousands of hopeful fighters are converging upon Las Vegas in hopes of becoming the newest champion in their respective games. And thousands more have made the journey to watch the struggle in person. But for the fans, it isn’t just about the fights, it’s about the announcements. Almost every year, the heavy hitters come to Evo with something new. While Capcom and Street Fighter seem to be in a weird spot in 2019, that didn’t stop the powerful fighting game house from preparing something. Unfortunately it leaked, and Capcom went ahead and rolled everything out officially ahead of the planned reveal. So, while this isn’t being presented as a new “season,” three new characters are coming to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition.

On August 4, 2019, Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will be updated with the following characters: the returning World Warrior E. Honda, Final Fight and Street Fighter veteran Poison, and brand new (to Street Fighter) character-slash-Metro City cop Lucia Morgan. Lucia brings more Final Fight flavor to the Street Fighter universe, originally appearing as one of the playable protagonists in Final Fight 3. Each character will be available for $5.99 on the launch date, and a  Summer 2019 Character Bundle will be available the following day for $14.99. The bundle will include each character’s Battle Costume, as well as several alternate color choices. Each character can also be purchased with in-game currency, for those able and willing to grind up to 100,000 Fight Money per fighter.

A new stage will also be available on August 4, which will cost $3.99 or 70,000 Fight Money. The stage is Honda Sento, a remake of sorts of E. Honda’s Japanese bath house stage from the original Street Fighter II: The World Warrior.

As a reminder, Capcom is also running a substantial free trial for Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. Through August 11, you can try the game for free with both the starting roster, and the season three DLC additions. If you end up enjoying yourself, you can purchase the full game for 50% off.
